Shake Shack, the New York City-based burger chain, is planning one of its first Oklahoma locations in University North Park.
Shake Shack Oklahoma LLC entered into a ground lease in June with UTC 3 LLC, a subsidiary of University Town Center developer Collette Real Estate. Terms of the lease were not disclosed.
The site is located at the southeast corner of 24th Avenue NW and Rock Creek Road, adjacent to the Young Family Athletic Center. As of this reporting, building plans have not yet been approved.
In March, The OAK, a mixed-use development at Pennsylvania Avenue and Northwest Expressway in Oklahoma City, announced that Shake Shack would open its first Oklahoma location at that site. Construction on its location is currently underway.
Shake Shack operates more than 400 locations globally and has stated goals to operate 1,500 U.S. locations.
No timeline was made available for the Norman location.
