National coffee chain coming to Main Street

Posted on November 5, 2020

Grants Pass, Oregon based Dutch Bros Coffee has applied for a building permit to remodel the former Johnnie’s Charcoal Broiler Express at 1230 W Main.

Founded in 1992, Dutch Bros is the largest privately held drive-thru coffee chain in the United States with over 375 locations in 10 states. Dutch Bros’ locations are predominantly located on the west coast.

Dutch Bros “serves specialty coffee drinks, smoothies, freezes, teas and its Dutch Bros. Blue Rebel energy drink that customers can infuse with their favorite flavors,” according to their website.

Dutch Bros is the latest coffee chain joining West Main with Starbucks and Stella Nova, and Scooter’s Coffee under construction.

The Norman location will be the first location in Oklahoma.
